Bethany Lutheran Church has been so richly blessed, that in return, the hearts of our people are set in giving to monthly missions consisting of various ministries, organizations and outreach programs, helping those in need and less fortunate.  Through our mission giving, Bethany has been able to joyfully tithe (at least 10 percent) of our congregational giving each year.  

Historically, the Bethany Ladies Guild provided a breakfast once a month, following the Sunday Worship Service, with a portion of the breakfast donations always designated to specific missions.

Mission contributions have included ELCA Synod, ELCA Disaster Relief, ELCA Good Gifts Program, ELCA Malaria Campaign, ELCA Seminarian Scholarship Fund, ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission~Krystal Moraska, NGLS Synod, NGLS World Hunger, Fortune Lake Camp, Ministry Support~Sarah Sleeter, Norway Food Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul, Caring House, Missionary Eric Mayer, Tanzanian Dental Mission, Back-Packs for School Kids, Youth Encounter, Operation Christmas Child, Good Samaritan Program, Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry, Coat Closet, Cover Girls, Cornerstone Community Carnival, Rev Earnie Ness Fortune Lake Summer Camp Scholarships, Meal Ministry, Mkuza Tanzanian Girls School, Military Care Packages, Alpha/Omega House.

Ash Wednesday/Lent Midweeks ~ Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry
The special Ash Wednesday and Lent Midweek envelopes, along with the loose/undesignated offerings taken during the Ash Wednesday and Lent Midweek Worship Services will help defray the cost of the four Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry deliveries.  This program is an ecumenical, shared effort with other community churches, providing food for over 3,000 people.  CLICK HERE to learn more about the Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry Program. 

January/February/March ~ ELCA World Hunger
World Hunger Jars are available for anyone interested in starting a collection of extra pocket/purse change that adds up quickly for donating to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.  Each spring, Bethany has a special blessing of the collected jars and donations prior to the Northern Great Lakes Synod Assembly, when all participating churches in the synod bring their donations.
April/May/June ~ Northern Great Lakes Synod Leadership Fund
This fund provides scholarship support and resources for pastoral education in our synod. 

July/August/September ~ Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp
Donations for the Fortune Lake Camp facility in Crystal Falls, Michigan helps maintain the facility and assist in providing the extensive camp programs that are offered during the year.  
 
October/November/December ~ Adopt-A-Family
Bethany's generous holiday giving supports a community service program of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
